1. Highlights of Bangkok

Full day tour: 6.5 – 7 hours

Begin the tour with a visit to the Grand Palace, one of the most beautiful examples of an ancient Siamese Court. It was built in 1782 by King Rama I at the beginning of Chakri Dynasty. The palace, which was the former residence of the Kings of Thailand, is now reserved for Royal ceremonies and state occasions. Within the palace compound you will visit the magnificent Royal Chapel, Wat Phra Keo, which house the most sacred Buddha image in Thailand, The Emerald Buddha.

Continue to visit Wat Po, which is one of the largest and oldest temples in Bangkok, and is home to more than one thousand Buddha images, as well as the Reclining Buddha. Made as part of Rama III’s restoration, the Reclining Buddha is 46x metres long and 15 metres high, decorated with gold plating on his body and mother of pearl on his eyes and the soles of his feet. The latter display 108 auspicious scenes in Chinese and Indian styles.

After lunch, board a long-tailed boat for a launch trip to enjoy picturesque scenes of typical Thai canal life and a stop to visit the spectacular Temple of Dawn or Wat Arun. Then transfer back to your hotel by minivan.

2. Ayutthaya, Thailand’s Ancient Capital

Full day tour: 8 hours

Start the day with an hour drive to Ayutthaya, Thai capital for 417 years, is one of Thailand’s major tourist attractions and a World Heritage site. Visit the beautiful Bang Pa-In Summer Palace which is a popular summer retreat for Thai King’s, this palace includes one of the most photographed buildings in the Kingdom – a charming Thai pavilion built over a pond.

Continue to visit Wat Maha That, literally means “Monastery of the Great Relic”, the temple served as the central royal temple of the empire and also was the home of the supreme patriarch. Next visit to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the most important temple within the Royal Grand Palace compound, the equivalent of the Emerald Buddha Temple in Bangkok’s Royal Grand Palace.

Afterwards, proceed to the pier for boarding a luxurious motor launch, which will take you back to Bangkok. Enjoy buffet lunch while cruising along the Chao Phraya River. Your vehicle waits at the pier to transfer you back to the hotel.

3. Damnernsaduak Floating Market & Sampran Riverside

Full day tour: 8 hours

Depart for 1.5 hours drive from Bangkok through rice paddies and salt fields, a stop will be made at a unique market at the Mae Klong that is held every day literally on the rail tracks. Proceed to Damnernsaduak, you will board a small boat to journey to the floating market where the local farmers still paddle up and down the narrow canals trying to sell their produce. Then free time to stroll around the market.

Continue an hour drive to Sampran Riverside for lunch and enjoy taking part in arts and crafts workshops around the village. The visitors are free to roam around to see the demonstration and also try out all activities, such as traditional weaving, rice farming, traditional Thai games, bamboo dancing, Thai martial arts, garland making, traditional pottery, traditional Thai kitchen, umbrella painting, Thai boxing and much more. Conclude the visit with local performance of folk dances and Thai way of life procession. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel.
